Cannibalism's new, but I'm used to those types, at least.
[he deliberately spent his childhood in the underworld, after all. he knows better how to deal with the sociopathic sorts, the backstabbers, than he does with kind people.]
... That's true of everyone. No one asked to be here.
[like shinnosuke's said to others, he doesn't believe in karma. whether you're a good person or not, it doesn't matter—the world can be impartially terrible to all. in that regard, it makes it easier to bear.
he can't control what happens to him, so all he can control is how he reacts to it. and he's not so arrogant to think that his problems outweigh anyone else's.]
well he's not saying she can make things easier on him by getting lost so she's just going to keep sitting at the edge of his bed. you're stuck with her, shinnosuke.]
anyway, he can't handle this, which means it's time for a topic change.]
... Overheard some of the guests talking about how they want to do a public discussion, to make sure everyone's on the same page.

Which is a nice thought, but there's no way the Nightman is going to conveniently miss a group gathering, and depending on how much of their hand they reveal, they might be shooting themselves in the foot.
At least it'll be on Sunday, so I'm going to try and time my fun little meeting with him to keep him occupied—help me think of crap I can delay him with.
[hmmm. how much time are they going to need for a group gathering, anyway? shinnosuke is going to have to come up with a lot of things to drag that conversation out. just as she did the week before, she wants to argue that he should take her with him - but he'd already denied it once.]
Maybe you could pitch some new ideas for the one-ticket items in the gift shop? Barely anyone buys those unless they're weapons, so we could come up with a list of a hundred or so inane things for you to suggest to him one by one.
Yeah, that works. Let's do it—I'm great at bullshitting, so even if he gets bored as hell with me, I know how to spin things so that he can't just tell me that it's useless and to shut up.
Thanks for calling me ugly. [he's not offended he doesn't care about his looks.] Just act however like Lila would and preferably in as few words as possible.
[anyway]
... This is probably only going to work once or twice. The guests don't need to know we're pulling off a distraction for them this time, but if they plan on having another public discussion—or if they do anything that might get the Nightman to interfere—then we're going to have this problem all over again. He's going to get suspicious if I spend another meeting wasting his time.

My point is, you've been through enough crap already.
